On behalf of the Regency Executive Management team, our Administrators, Staff and the entire Regency family, our hearts break over the sad news of the untimely passing of our long time and very dear friend, Lester Smith.
A Man Who Personified Kindness and Embodied The Unquenchable Joy Of The Human Spirit
Lester was one of our most beloved musicians and entertainers, who brought happiness and joy to our residents.
Lester would light up the room with his megawatt smile, even before he started his performances!
To know him was to love him, and did we ever love him!
Our residents would greatly look forward to his performances and he never disappointed, as he combined his stirring music sprinkled with his witty and insightful anecdotes.
Lester passed away on February 1, 2018, due to a sudden heart attack.
In the words of his beloved Wife, Barbara:
“Lester was my loving husband and a devoted father, but to all who have come to know him, his music was his passion. His smile lit up the room and his charismatic personality made everyone feel special. He lived and breathed music and knew how important it was to share his talent with all the residents he was honored to meet.
Lester’s kind and gentle heart touched countless lives, and not only inspired his family and friends, but was also an inspiration to everyone at nursing homes, hospitals, and senior/family communities. He loved to share his special stories about the people he met with his family; these stories taught his children valuable lessons of compassion and kindness. It brought him great joy to put a smile on someones face, and to brighten days and lighten spirits.
Thank you to all our friends at Regency Nursing Centers, for including him in your life and especially in the lives of all the residents he preformed for. We know he will always be remembered for his loving disposition and musical talent – it was truly a special gift that he used to the fullest capacity. Please keep us in your prayers and let your residents know how much he truly enjoyed performing and spending time with them. The friendships he formed were significant to his life.”
Lester will forever live in our hearts and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
We will miss you dearly, Lester.
Rest In Peace.
Your Regency Family.
